At the Burnfield Medical Practice we aim to operate a system
which make it as easy as possible for our patients to access a
doctor, nurse, or other health care professional.
Our excellent Reception staff are trained to ask specific questions
to help to direct our patients to find the most convenient and
appropriate appointment type (telephone or surgery) with the most
appropriate clinician (doctor, practice nurse, physiotherapist or
clinical technicians.)
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon
as possible so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.
To this end we specifically strive to achieve the following
standards:
- Patients who request on the day appointments will be seen
the same day or speak directly to a suitably trained healthcare
professional in the practice.
- Patients will normally wait no longer than 2 working days
for an appointment with an unspecified doctor for routine,
non-urgent appointments. If this standard is unable to be met,
for any reason, then a telephone consultation with a health care
professional will be offered on that day.
- Patients should wait no longer than 2 working days for an
appointment with the Practice Nurse or Clinical Technicians
unless due to holiday periods or unforeseen circumstances.
