Practice Nurses
Sister Jill Russell (RGN, SCM Diploma Asthma) Sister Janet Patience (RGN, Dip COPD)
Available Monday am, Tuesday to Friday am and pm. They work very closely with the doctors and can perform a wide variety of procedures including cervical cytology, ear syringing, child immunisation clinics, secondary prevention clinics and well/man/women appointments.
(The Practice Nurses deal with contraceptive enquiries.)
Practice Physiotherapist
Ciaran McManus MCSP BSc (Hons) Available on Tuesdays am & pm, Thursday morning and Friday am & pm. Ciaran works very closely with the doctors, but patients with musculoskeletal problems, sprains & strains can self-refer. Self-referrals are still booked by appointment system and our reception staff have been trained to triage to the most appropriate clinician.
Practice Manager
Ishbel MacDonald Ishbel looks after the day-to-day management of the practice. She makes sure everything (and everybody!) is organised and running smoothly. Any comments, suggestions or feedback, both positive and negative, are welcomed and should be directed to her.
Office Manager
Fiona Cuthbert Fiona looks after the day-to-day management of the office. She also makes sure all surgeries; patient appointments and prescriptions procedures are in place and running smoothly.
Receptionists
Christine Fyfe, Julie Fraser, Kerry MacDonald, Dianne Sturrock, Leanne Thomson
and Helen Fraser Our receptionists are trained to ask specific questions enabling them to deal effectively with your requirements. They will help with any queries or difficulties you have in strict confidence.
Christine, Kerry and Dianne have dual roles, as Clinical Technicians. They have been trained and assessed by the GPs to take blood, blood pressure, test urine, carry out ECGs and other clinical tasks.
Secretaries
Susan Campbell and Jacqui Munro Susan and Jacqui deals with all doctors, nurses and practice managers typing.
Counsellors
Hazel Moody and Tine Butterworth Referrals to
the counsellor are done through the doctors.
Counselling takes place at the surgery or can be outwith the surgery as Tine
Butterworth has the facility to see patients elsewhere. This service is
available from Monday to Friday. Whenever possible appointments are offered at a
time that will suit the person seeking counselling. If a particular time is
sought an extra period of waiting may be involved, for instance, appointments
later in the day are heavily sought.
